Mr. Daniel Moon is the Director of Robotic Surgery at Epworth Healthcare and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at The University of Melbourne. He is a urologist with particular interests in laparoscopic and robotic surgery, the management of prostate cancer, and the aftermath of its treatment. He has performed over 1000 major laparoscopic +/- robotic procedures, published the first Australian series of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in 2008, performed the first Australian robotic cysto-prostatectomy in 2009, published the largest Australian pyeloplasty series in 2011, and established a robotic partial nephrectomy program at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, publishing the first Australian series of this procedure in 2014.

Mr. Moon convenes the biennial National Kidney and Bladder Cancer Symposium, co-convened Australia’s first robotic prostatectomy surgical masterclass in 2011, followed by the first robotic partial nephrectomy masterclass in 2012 then the first Australian multi-disciplinary robotic surgical symposium in 2013.  Dr. Moon has developed a comprehensive training and credentialing documents for surgeons learning robotic surgery is involved in fellowship training in robotics and is on the Editorial Board of the British Journal of Urology International.

Mr. Moon has also developed a high-volume urological prosthetics practice, restoring continence and potency in men following prostate cancer treatment.  After co-authoring the first multicentre Australian series of suburethral male slings and then presenting the largest local series of suburethral slings and artificial urinary sphincters at the Urological Society’s Annual Scientific Meeting in 2012, he published the largest Australian series of artificial urinary sphincter insertion in 2014.
